Matt Wofford joins the Golden Eagle golf team as an assistant coach, following a successful collegiate career at Southern Miss that saw him earn four letters.
Wofford, a Fort Walton Beach, Fla., native, wrapped up his collegiate playing career in the spring and had a 74.65 scoring average, which ranked third on the team. His best performance was a second place finish at the Hyatt Cerromar Beach Intercollegiate in March, to go along with three other top 25 finishes in the five-event spring season.
In addition, Wofford was selected as a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar recipient, by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Wofford received his bachelor's degree in sport administration in 2004 and is working on his master's degree in sport management. He is the son of Jane and Robert Wofford.
