Creighton Nelms Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

Nelms has posted a 3.42 grade point average in mathematics at the University.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss senior long snapper Creighton Nelms of Corinth, Miss., earned Conference USA All-Academic football team honors Friday morning in an announcement by the league office.

Nelms, one of 12 student-athletes to make the list, has posted a 3.42 grade point average in mathematics at the University while handling the snapping duties for the Golden Eagles over the past two seasons.

Over the last two campaigns, Golden Eagle kickers have made 106-of-107 extra points and 50-of-63 field goals. In the punting game, Southern Miss has tallied 98 punts for a 41.3 average and just two of their attempted boots blocked. Nelms also has one solo tackle to his credit and was an all-Conference USA honorable mention selection in 2010. He has also been named to the Dean's List once and garnered C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
