HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Director of Athletics Richard Giannini announced Tuesday that the Golden Eagle football program will head to either New Orleans or Fort Worth as its potential bowl destinations later this month when the team makes its eighth-straight postseason appearance.

"There are still many variables in place to determine where we are going at this point," Giannini said of the football program, which will be appearing in its 12th bowl in the last 13 seasons. "We likely will not know our bowl destination until this weekend."

The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl will take place, Sunday, Dec. 20, at 7:30 p.m., at the Louisiana Superdome, while the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl is set for Thursday, Dec., 31 at 11 a.m., at Amon G. Carter Stadium on the TCU campus in Fort Worth.

Southern Miss fans can now either go online or call the Golden Eagle Athletic Ticket Office and preorder their bowl game tickets for the team's eighth-straight postseason appearance later this month. Fans can go online at SouthernMiss.com or call 1-800-844-TICK (8425) to purchase their tickets. Tickets for both games are priced at $40.

The athletics department is also offering following packages for those individuals buying multiple tickets.

• Order 10-29 tickets and receive your choice of an official bowl duffel bag OR a bowl watch, and a signed game program from Larry Fedora.
• Order 30-49 tickets and receive one duffel bag, a bowl watch, a team plaque, and a signed game program from Larry Fedora.
• Order over 50 tickets and receive two duffel bags, a team plaque, a bowl watch, and a signed game program from Larry Fedora.

Tickets can also be donated to the Southern Miss Band, The Pride, as well when ordering.
