Southern Miss to Honor 21 Football Seniors on Saturday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss will honor the careers of 21 senior football student-athletes on Saturday prior to kickoff of the team's final regular season home game.

The class comprises a group of players that have combined for 329 starts and 31 wins in their careers which span from 2008 to 2011.

The 21 seniors include wide receiver Ryan Balentine; wide receiver Kelvin Bolden; defensive lineman Andrew Burns; quarterback Austin Davis; offensive lineman Thomas Edenfield; linebacker Tim Green; tight end Logan Hickman; offensive lineman Lamar Holmes; place kicker Danny Hrapmann; defensive lineman Deddrick Jones; defensive lineman Cordarro Law; long snapper Creighton Nelms; defensive back Cameron O'Neal; defensive lineman Terrance Pope; defensive back Kendrick Presley; linebacker Jeremy Snowden; wide receiver William Spight; linebacker Ronnie Thornton; offensive lineman Jason Weaver; linebacker Korey Williams; defensive back Marquese Wheaton.

"They've been ambassadors for this university off the field. I'm proud of these guys and what these guys are doing and the way they carry themselves," Coach Larry Fedora said of his senior class at Monday's press conference. "They are young men that are getting close to being full grown men when they walk away from this place with their degree. When they do that, I'm going to be very proud of them."

The Golden Eagles can secure their first East Division title in five years and just its third 10-win season with a victory over Memphis. Southern Miss owns a 39-21-1 record in the series including a 19-3 mark in Hattiesburg.

Saturday's matchup will also be the State of Mississippi Education Appreciation Day. All Mississippi students, pre-K through high school seniors, are eligible to purchase $5 upper deck tickets. Faculty and staff members are also eligible under this promotion.

Faculty and staff members will need to present their school ID at the Ferlise Center during normal operating hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday) or at the ticket booths located at Roberts Stadium.
