Southern Miss Football Gives Back on This Thanksgiving Holiday
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Members of the Southern Miss football team served meals this Thanksgiving Eve as part of an effort with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Over 40 current Southern Miss football players attended the lunch beginning at 12 noon, while wives of the coaching staff served meals at 12:30 p.m., to both those in attendance as well as at a neighboring housing project.
The Golden Eagles have served meals the day before Thanksgiving each year since 2014 with a meal that consists of turkey, dressing and a dessert.
Southern Miss also continues to prepare for its final regular-season game this Saturday at Marshall. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. CT/2:30 p.m. ET, and can be seen on Stadium.
