Seats For Soldiers Campaign Continues as Military Appreciation Game Approaches

Nov. 1, 2017

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Department of Athletics reminds fans of its Seats for Soldiers Campaign, an endeavor that was created in the summer of 2016 and allows Golden Eagle fans a chance to assist local military personnel.

The Seats for Soldiers Campaign is a way to show your Golden Eagle Pride while also allowing these military members an opportunity to attend a football game and witness firsthand the passion of Southern Miss. For $10, you can sponsor a military personnel member from local bases such as Camp Shelby and Keesler Air Force Base to attend a home game at The Rock.

For each ticket purchased for the Seats for Soldiers Campaign, the Southern Miss Department of Athletics will match that purchase which will be donated to our military personnel.

The Golden Eagles will play host to their final home game of 2017, Saturday, Nov. 18, against Charlotte and it will be Military Appreciation Day at M.M. Roberts Stadium. Game time is set for 2 p.m. A number of festivities have been put together for that contest including a flyover, as well as a swearing in of candidates for the armed forces.

There are three ways for individuals or companies to take part in the Seats for Soldiers Campaign by purchasing tickets online, by calling the Southern Miss Ticket Office at 601-266-5418 or by visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office weekdays from 8 a.m., until 5 p.m.

Seats for Soldiers tickets can be purchased in any number. The purchases are non-tax deductible.
