Southern Miss Announces UAB Game Week Activities

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss announced today their week of activities surrounding Saturday's home football contest when the Golden Eagles host Conference USA rival UAB in a 6:30 p.m. kickoff at Roberts Stadium.
During the week, Southern Miss will host numerous events to get fans ready for the Saturday showdown including the Friday Football Luncheon with coach Ellis Johnson, the 100 Years Gala and Friday Night at the Fountain.
The luncheon begins at 11:30 and will include a buffet style lunch for $10 with selected players, assistant coaches and Johnson on-hand to give fans a preview of the game and answer questions. It is held inside the Trent Lott Center.
The 100 Years Gala begins at 6 p.m. at the Lake Terrance Convention Center and will feature a dinner, a silent auction, round table discussion with the Voice of the Golden Eagles, John Cox, along with several Golden Eagle Legends, as well as the unveiling of the top five moments in Southern Miss Football history via a short video presentation highlighting each milestone and event.
The price of the gala is $65 for an individual and $600 for a reserved table of eight. For more information and to purchase tickets please call the Eagle Club at please 601-266-5299. Seating is limited and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Friday Night at the Fountain begins at 7 p.m. with the pep rally to follow at 9 p.m.
Campus ramps up on Saturday when Junior Eagle Funland opens at 2:30 p.m. Fans will also want to get over to Roberts Stadium by 4:30 for the Eagle Walk, scheduled two hours before kick off.
The Golden Eagles will also don their 1970 throwback uniforms for the second time this season.
Ticket promotions for the game include the "Take A Kid" promotion which will allow every child age 12 and under to get a free ticket for each adult ticket purchased. Southern Miss faculty and staff will also be able to take advantage of a buy one, get one free promotion.
At halftime, the athletic department will have a special legends club presentation.
Saturday's game is set for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff and will be broadcast on CSS (Ch. 25 SD and 400 HD on Comcast-Hattiesburg) with Mike Morgan, Chuck Oliver and Rachel Baribeau calling the action. It can also be heard on the IMG Sports Network with John Cox and Vic Purvis.
Tickets for the 2012 Southern Miss football season can be purchased either online via SouthernMissTickets.com, by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Center from 8 a.m., until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The office will also be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday before moving to the Southwest Ticket Booth at the stadium at 3:30 p.m.
