Oct. 25, 2016

Venue: Joe P. Park Practice Facility
 Full Pads
 Wednesday (3:10 p.m.)

Report: The Golden Eagles return home for the first time in almost a month when they entertain Marshall in the school’s annual homecoming tilt this Saturday. Game time is set for 6 p.m., at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium. The squad continued to get ready for this contest Tuesday afternoon in near perfect conditions for two and a half hours at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility. The Golden Eagles look to snap a current two-game losing streak as well as five-game skid to The Herd.

Coach Jay Hopson
On first opportunity to coach against a team that you
had your first opportunity:
“It’s a big game, just like they all are as it is the game this week. Certainly, I have a lot of dear friends there and it is a place that will always be special in my heart. But it is football season and it is about the next game. That’s what is the reality of this whole journey. Our players and coaches know that it is a big ballgame and we know we have to be prepared and ready.”

On the workload of the running backs:
“We certainly have some guys there that are talented. We try to mix it up as much as we can (between Ito Smith, George Payne and Tez Parks). We are not going to change anything that we do. It will be status quo.”

Tickets: Seats for this Saturday's game against The Herd can be purchased by going online at, or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) as well as visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Center on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Pat Ferlise Ticket Office will also be open this Saturday from 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., and will then reopen at the Roberts Stadium Box Office at 3 p.m., until halftime of the game.
