Football to Honor Former Athletics Staffer on Helmet

Oct. 18, 2013

Larry 'Doc' Harrington

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team will wear a "DOC" sticker in remembrance of long-time Golden Eagle athletic staff Larry "Doc" Harrington, who died earlier this month, in Saturday's game against East Carolina.

Game time is set for 11 a.m., from Greenville, N.C.

Harrington's career encompassed almost 40 years with the school and was involved in more aspects of running the school's athletic department than anyone else in the department's history. He was the school's head athletic trainer, while also holding the title of equipment manager and head tennis coach as well as many other roles during his time with the athletics department.

The Golden Eagles will wear this sticker for the remainder of the 2013 season on their helmets.
