Golden Eagles Preparing for UTSA Behind Strong Play from players like Jeremy Sangster
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss football looks to rebound this weekend when they travel to San Antonio, Texas, to face UTSA in a big Conference USA West Division game.
The Golden Eagles, vying to snap back from a 43-28 loss at home to North Texas last weekend, looks to players like redshirt junior Jeremy Sangster, a linebacker from Louisville, Miss., to continue their solid play against the Roadrunners (3-0, 0-0) after enjoying a standout performance a week ago.
Sangster registered a career-best 10 tackles against the Mean Green, including a half tackle for loss. For Sangster, he just tried to help the team any way to help make them successful.
“For a linebacker, you just run from sideline to sideline and plug holes and that is what I try to do for this team,” said Sangster of his role on the squad. “I just try to do my job and execute.”
He has done this each week for the Golden Eagles and again this Saturday at 6 p.m., at the Alamodome against a squad that opens C-USA play this weekend. The game can be seen at Stadium on Facebook at this link.
Southern Miss enters play with a 2-2 overall mark and a 0-1 record in league play. The Golden Eagles look for their first win against the Roadrunners in three tries in San Antonio.
