HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team returns home this Saturday when they entertain No. 25 Boise State in an 11 a.m., contest at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium.
Leading up to the game that morning, Junior Eagle Funland will open at 8 a.m., for two hours on Pride Field, while the team's traditional Eagle Walk will take place at 9 a.m.
As part of the 100 Years of Championship and Commencements, Southern Miss will recognize its conference and national championship teams on this day, as well as honor one of its six colleges, the College of Health.
The title squad recognitions will include the national championship teams from 1958 and 1962, the Gulf States Conference title winners from 1948, 1950 and 1951, along with the five Conference USA championship squads from Conference USA which includes the 1996, 1997, 1999, 2003 and 2011 teams.
It is the 50th anniversary of the 1962 national championship team and the members of that squad will participate in Eagle Walk, as well as be honorary captains for the game. The 1962 team will also be recognized during halftime of the contest.
In addition, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and there will be a special moment of silence to honor all who continue to battle this disease and for those for have lost their lives to breast cancer.
Game day tickets sales will start at 8 a.m., at the southwest ticket booth at the stadium.
