HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team went through its regular Tuesday practice in full pads in preparation for Boise State this Saturday.

The Golden Eagles face a Bronco squad that is ranked No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and will also make their first visit to The Rock since 2008.

The squad worked out for over two hours on the game field at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium, as redshirt freshman Ricky Lloyd worked out with the first team, while true freshman Anthony Alford returned to action to see time with the second squad.

"Ricky is definitely getting the starting reps right now and he had a pretty good practice today," said first-year Southern Miss coach Ellis Johnson. "Anthony is getting the backup reps as he missed a whole week and he looks a little rusty, but right now that would be the rotation. We are trying to get Arsenio (Favor) enough that he knows what to do so that we could play him if we needed. "

The Broncos will be the third ranked opponent Southern Miss has faced this season, having also played Nebraska and Louisville.

Game time is set for 11 a.m., at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium. Tickets are available online at, over the phone at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or in person at the Pat Ferlise Center Ticket Office weekdays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
