HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Department of Athletics will be holding a 15-year reunion for the 1999 Conference USA championship football team during the school's season home-opening football game against Alcorn State, Saturday, Sept. 6. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
The entire coaching staff, roster, as well as trainers and managers are invited back to take part in the festivities.
The 1999 squad, which finished 9-3 overall and 6-0 in C-USA, capped the season with a 23-17 victory over Colorado State in the Liberty Bowl en route to a final No. 14 ranking by the Associated Press.
The team will be invited to participate in Eagle Walk prior to the game and will also be recognized as the honorary captains during the coin toss. A formal recognition of the group will also take place during the contest.
Each individual from that team will receive two free tickets, with the option of purchasing additional tickets.
