Jalen Richard throws out first pitch at Thursday's Athletics game
Former Golden Eagle great continues early successes in NFL
OAKLAND -- Former Southern Miss running back and current Oakland Raider, Jalen Richard, earned the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Thursday's game between the Houston Astros and Oakland A's.

Richard was also named a Pro Bowl alternate this past season for his rushing and returning prowess. He helped Oakland to its first playoff appearance since the 2002 season.
As a senior for the Golden Eagles, Richard ran for 1,098 yards that included a 230-yard game at Texas State with four touchdowns. He ended the season with a team-best 14 scores.
