Football to Play Two Games on ESPN Family of Networks

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - ESPN announced Thursday afternoon that the Southern Miss football team will be featured twice this upcoming fall, as both the Nebraska and Western Kentucky road games are slated to air on their family of networks.

The Nebraska game opens the 2012 season on Sept. 1, for the Golden Eagles and the contest will be televised on either ABC or ESPN2, depending on the television market, and will start at 2:30 p.m., CT. It will be the school's first appearance in Lincoln since 2004 when Southern Miss defeated the Huskers, 21-17.

The Sept. 22 contest at Western Kentucky will be available on ESPN3.com and the start time is 6 p.m., CT. This will be the first meeting in football between the two schools and will be played at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green.

Each of these games will also be available via WatchESPN, which delivers live access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 on PCs, smartphones and tablets to fans who receive ESPN's linear networks as part of their video subscription from Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks or Verizon FiOS TV.

More potential television contests for the 2012 Golden Eagle football season and the corresponding networks will be released at a later time.
