HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former Southern Miss offensive lineman Ryan McKee has signed a free agent contract with the New York Jets.

McKee finished his Golden Eagle career last fall by starting in every game over the last three seasons at right tackle, comprising 40 contests.

The Spanish Fort, Ala., native headlined a Southern Miss offensive line that surpassed the school's record for total offense in each of the last three seasons, including a 5,636-yard mark in 2008. The Golden Eagles also had 1,000-yard rushing seasons each year from Damion Fletcher during that time as Southern Miss captured 23 wins and reached three bowl games, winning two of them.

Southern Miss finished No. 20 nationally in total offense this past season for its highest ever finish in its history of the FBS. McKee was a big part of that as evidenced by his five-time nod of winning the Pound the Rock award as the Golden Eagles' top offensive player for that week's game. His special recognition came for the UL Lafayette (8/30), Arkansas State (9/13), Boise State (10/11), Memphis (10/25), UAB (11/1) and SMU games (11/29).

McKee was a second team All-Conference USA selection by the league's coaches in each of the last two seasons.
