Pride of Tailgating Event Set for April 19 as Part of 2014 Eagle Fest Celebration

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Department of Athletics will be sponsoring the Pride of Tailgating Challenge, Saturday, April 19, as part of the 2014 Eagle Fest celebration with a chance to win some exciting prizes.
Free tailgating spots will be available for fans on Pride Field. A limited number of tailgate spots will be available and fans need to reserve their spot in advance. Fans will be responsible for their own tailgating needs, which includes tables, chairs, grills, games and coolers. Those that have reserved a space may begin arriving on Sat., April 19 as early as 8 a.m., with all tailgating areas setup by 10:30 a.m.
The tailgate that displays the most Golden Eagle Pride will win a $200 gift card to Leatha's BBQ, a helmet signed by coach Todd Monken, an opportunity to walk in Eagle Walk for a game and pre-game sideline passes to a game during the 2014 season.
Fans can use this tailgating area to get right in the middle of all the activity that will be taking place that day on campus, including the Black and Gold spring game at 1 p.m., the Black and Gold Carnival on Pride Field at 2:30 p.m., the Easter egg hunt at 3 p.m., and the baseball game against Conference USA foe Louisiana Tech at 4 p.m.
