Feb. 7, 2012Austin Davis (Meridian, Miss.) and offensive lineman Lamar Holmes (Gastonia, N.C.), have been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine to be held later this month in Indianapolis.
The event runs from Feb. 22-28, at Lucas Oil Stadium, the site of Super Bowl XLVI. Top executives, coaching staffs, player personnel departments and medical personnel from all 32 NFL teams will be on hand to evaluate the nation's top college football players eligible for the upcoming NFL Draft. This intense, four-day job interview is an exciting time for the athletes and a vital step in achieving their dreams of playing in the NFL.
The four-day trip includes medical evaluations, psychological testing, interviews with prospective teams and the media, a NFL Players Association meeting, as well as a workout day that includes timing and skills drills.
Holmes is slated to go through his process from Feb. 22-25, while Davis is expected to go through his course Feb. 23-26. The workout days are slated for the 25th and 26th, respectively.
The Golden Eagles are the first pair invited to the NFL Combine since DeAndre Brown was invited last season.
