Southern Miss Signing Day Celebration Set for Feb. 5
The event will take the Golden Eagles to three cities - Hattiesburg, Jackson and Biloxi on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Department of Athletics will hold its Signing Day Celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 5, for National Signing Day with stops planned in Hattiesburg, Jackson and the Mississippi Gulf Coast that day.
The tour begins with lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings (3 Churchill St.) in Hattiesburg from 11:30 a.m., until 1 p.m. Later in the day, the Jackson party is set to run from 5-6:30 p.m., at the Hilton Hotel (1001 E. County Line Rd.), with the Gulf Coast event taking place from 6:30-8 p.m., at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (777 Beach Blvd.) in Biloxi.
"This is a very special day for our athletics program as we get to unveil our new student-athletes that will join our University family for next season," said Golden Eagle Director of Athletics Bill McGillis. "We wanted to give as many of our fans a chance to be able to see our new football team members in south Mississippi as well as to be able to show off the hard work of Todd Monken and his staff in putting new pieces of our team together for the 2014 season."
Those individuals visiting all three locations that day will include Golden Eagle head coach Todd Monken, the Voice of the Golden Eagles John Cox and McGillis. Golden Eagle cheerleaders as well as Seymour will also be in attendance.
Coach Monken will be available from 5-6 p.m., in Jackson and then will travel to the Gulf Coast, where they will appear from 7-8 p.m.
Admission to each venue is free, and complimentary food is available for the events in Jackson and on the Gulf Coast along with a cash bar. Each venue will feature live auction items as well.
