The 2011 Southern Miss football season was a season for the record books including the most wins in school history, a Conference USA championship, and ending with a Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl victory.

It truly was a team effort in 2011 in terms of players contributing to the school-record 516 point total for Southern Miss in its 12-win season.
The Golden Eagles led the Football Bowl Subdivision with 25 different players scoring touchdowns during the season and had a total of 28 players score points during the year, including senior offensive lineman Lamar Holmes who registered a two-point conversion against UCF.
Senior Kelvin Bolden and Ryan Balentine, along with junior Tracey Lampley, led the way with eight touchdowns apiece for Southern Miss. Place kicker Danny Hrapmann, who enjoyed a solid senior campaign as well, led the way with 130 points. His point total ranked second all-time on the school's single season charts while his field goals made tied for second for a campaign and his extra point total of 61 established a yearly mark for the Golden Eagles.
The team averaged 36.9 points per contest as they scored at least 27 points in 11 games during the season, including a season-best 63 points on the road at Navy.
