Head Coach Larry Fedora
Southern Miss Head Coach
On what he told the team at halftime...
"The way we approached it was no different than any halftime from any game we have played this year. It was zero to zero and we had to go out and do what we needed to do. We made our adjustments and then it was go out and play hard and play Southern Miss football."

On running back Tracy Lampley and the rest of the running backs...
"They keep doing it and the offensive line is doing what they do. I think we're blocking well on the perimeter so it was obvious tonight that we needed to run the ball effectively because we didn't throw the ball effectively. We had a lot of missed opportunities on the throwing game tonight."

On this being a trap game and setting the tone with the win...
"I hope this is a special team. It's all in front of them. The practices this week were no different than they have been every week. The guys gave a lot of energy every day. They didn't change anything, in fact, when I wanted to cut some periods off practice the guys were saying 'no let's not do that'."

On keeping UTEP's running backs from big plays...
"We didn't know if we could stop all the big plays but we needed to limit them and we needed to do that by flying to the ball. We gave up a few in the first half but in the second half we played some really good defense."

On RB Jamal Woodyard...
"He played well. The kid is a good player. If you remember we said that back in spring ball. We said he was the surprise of the spring and going into camp he was number three and coming out he was number three. But when he's had the opportunity he plays for us."
