Keith Pigott is in his second year as the defensive graduate assistant coach and third year with the football program. He served as a student assistant coach in 2005, assisting with the defensive line and last year he helped with the defensive backs.
This season, his on-field responsibilities include assisting with the linebackers and overseeing the offensive scout team. He also assists the coaching staff with Southern Miss' player game evaluations and the scouting of opponents.
Pigott was an assistant coach at Bay High School in Bay St. Louis, Miss., from 2002-2004, working with the wide receivers and the defensive backs. Prior to that time, he spent one year as the quarterbacks coach at Centreville Academy in Centreville, Miss., from 2001-02.
Pigott also spent one year as the head baseball coach at Centreville Academy in 2001-02 and three years as the assistant baseball coach at Bay High School from 2002-04.
He received his Associate of Arts degree from Southwest Mississippi Community College in 1997, his bachelor's degree in physical education from Southern Miss in 2000 and his master's degree in physical education from Southern Miss in 2001. He is currently working towards a doctorate in philosophy in teaching and administration from Southern Miss.
He is the son of Mike and Lynn Pigott of Tylertown, Miss.
