No stranger to fast-paced, high energy offenses, Jeff Horrocks enters his first season as an offensive graduate assistant for the Golden Eagles, focusing primarily on the wide receivers and special teams units.
Horrocks comes to Southern Miss after year-long stints with West Virginia, under coach Dana Holgorsen, and Oklahoma State, under coach Mike Gundy. While with the Mountaineers, Horrocks assisted with the defensive side of the ball and special teams squads on game planning, film breakdown as well as running the offensive scout team.
With the Cowboys, Horrocks was a member of the staff which lead OSU to a 12-1 record, No. 3 nationally ranking and Big 12 and Fiesta Bowl championships. In 2011, one of Horrocks' pupils, Quinn Sharp, earned All-Big 12 First Team honors as well as the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year honor. Safety Markelle Martin, also under Horrocks' positions, earned All-Big 12 First Team honors and AFCA First Team All-American honors.
Prior to OSU, Horrocks coached the running backs at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. Horrocks got his start as a student at OSU where he worked with quarterbacks and running backs and worked directly with former Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora.
Horrocks is married to the former Maegen Webb and earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Oklahoma State and a graduate degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University.
