New Video Boards Being Installed at Reed Green Coliseum
The boards are set to be operational at the start of the new year.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - When Conference USA play begins for the Southern Miss men's and women's basketball teams during the upcoming new year, fans will enjoy an enhanced experience at Reed Green Coliseum with the addition of two new video boards currently being installed in the facility.
The two video boards, made by Daktronics, stand 10 feet 8 inches tall and 19 feet wide. Both are 10 mm high definition boards that allows for the use of video as well as the ability to see instant replays during the contest.
In addition, two new scoreboards will be installed as well at Reed Green Coliseum.
"We're excited about the impact that this should have on the fan experience," said Stephen Pugh, Southern Miss Senor Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. "This will bring a new energy into the building and hopefully continue to build the atmosphere we're trying to achieve at our events."
The installation works is being performed by Munn Enterprises, Inc., while Buckhaults Electric Service of Ellisville is handling the electrical work.
The video board installation includes part of the plan to better the Golden Eagle fan experience as the concourse by the seating areas will also enjoy an updated look.
The new video boards are expected to be operational when the men's squad opens home C-USA play against UTEP in a 7 p.m. contest.
