Forte Enjoying Solid Professional Career Start For Yakima of the CBA
The Bay Springs, Miss., native played four season with the Golden Eagles.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former Southern Miss men's basketball forward Jason Forte is enjoying a solid start to his professional career with the Yakima (Wash.) Sun Kings of the Continental Basketball Association.
Signed by the Sun Kings on Nov. 17, Forte, the 6-foot-6 native of Bay Springs, Miss., holds averages of 14 points and four rebounds per contest in the team's 3-0 start, including a season-high 17 points against Great Falls. He has scored in double digits in all three games.
Forte finished his four-year career at Southern Miss last season with averages of 5.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.7 assists per contest in 107 games, including 42 starts.
Former Golden Eagle Elvin Mims (2000-02) is a teammate of Forte at Yakima, but is currently on injured reserve. The Sun Kings, who have won the CBA title four times, captured the crown during the 2005-06 season.
Forte and the Sun Kings return to action tonight (Dec. 8), when they entertain the Albany Patroons.
