Southern Miss seeks back-to-back victories, Faces Alabama Friday
Golden Eagles look for first back-to-back victories of the season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss (2-1), fresh off a victory Tuesday night, looks to make it two in a row, as they travel to Alabama to take on the Crimson Tide, Friday, November 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Coleman Coliseum.
This will be the 25th meeting between the two schools. UA leads the series, 19-5, and have won the last three. Southern Miss has not won since 1993, and has not won in Tuscaloosa since 1960.
The Golden Eagles are led by guard Jeremy Wise. The sophomore leads the team in scoring with 15.3 points per game. Right behind him is junior Courtney Beasley with 14.0, and Craig Craft finishes the trio in double-digits at 10.0. Gjio Bain leads Southern Miss on the boards, pulling down 9.7 rebounds a game.
Southern Miss is coming off an 86-60 victory over cross-town rival William Carey. Wise led the Golden Eagles with 20 points and seven assists, while Courtney Beasley added 17 points and seven rebounds.
Alabama enters Friday's contest 2-1 on the year. Bama is led by forward Richard Hendrix. The junior currently leads the SEC with 25.0 points per game and 15.7 rebounds. Sophomore forward Demetrius Jemison is averaging 12.7 points while leading the team with 6.7 rebounds.
The Crimson Tide is coming off an 85-83 defeat at the hands of Belmont, giving up a jumper from the free throw line with two seconds left. Against the Bruins, Hendrix led Alabama with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Demetrius Jemison and Mykal Riley added 15 apiece, while Alonzo Gee scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Following Friday's contest, Southern Miss returns home to face NAIA opponent Blue Mountain, Thursday, November 29. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. (CT).
