HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's basketball goes after its third-straight victory to start the season when they entertain Alabama State Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Reed Green Coliseum.
For those individuals with UAB football tickets later in the day, they can show that ticket at the Green Coliseum Ticket Office to purchase a $4 adult bleacher seat for the basketball game.
The Golden Eagles are led by the freshmen trio of Jeremy Wise (Jackson, Miss.), Jarvis Hill (Starkville, Miss.) and Sai'Quon Stone (Brooklyn, N.Y.). The trio has started both games and Wise leads Southern Miss in scoring at 17.0 points per game. Hill is next at 13.5 points per game, while Stone is averaging 10.5 points a contest.
Though the first two games, which includes wins over Belhaven (63-38) and Tennessee-Martin (77-67), the Golden Eagles are shooting 44.5 percent (49-of-110), including 38.9 percent (14-of-36) from 3-point range. They are also outrebounding their opponents by an average of 10 boards per game.
