Men's Basketball Visits Center of Child Development

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's basketball team took some time out of their day to visit the Center for Child Development located on the Southern Miss campus in Hattiesburg as part of their community service.
Players engaged in play with the kids, read books, painted, completed puzzles and assembled blocks during the interaction with the children that ranged in age from 3-to-5 years old. Seymour also was able to join in the festivities as well.
The Center offers early care and education program for children of the university's faculty, staff and students, as well as community members.
Southern Miss Center for Child Development serves as an academic teaching and research center for faculty and students across the university. The center provides interactive experiences for students majoring in Child and Family Studies through access to children ages 8 weeks to 5 years. The Center for Child Development is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
