Southern Miss Men's Hoops Inks Three on Signing Day

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss head men's basketball coach Larry Eustachy has announced the signings of three recruits to letters-of-intent and grant-in-aids for the 2010-11 academic year.

Cedric Jenkins of LaPlace, La., LaShay Page of Dillon, S.C., and Hayden Eustachy of Hattiesburg, Miss. have signed to play with the Golden Eagles next year.

Jenkins, a 6-2 guard, just finished his senior season at Riverside Academy. Rated a two-star prospect by Scouts.com, Jenkins averaged 19.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 4.0 steals while helping the Rebels to a 38-6 record and the Louisiana Class 2A State Championship last year. He earned All-State honors by the Louisiana Sports Writer's Association. He was also selected to play in the Louisiana High School Basketball Coaches All-Star Team. As a junior, he averaged 23.4 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 7.0 apg ad 6.4 spg. He averaged 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 5.0 steals as a sophomore, and 19.0 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 5.0 apg and 3.0 spg as a freshman.

Page is a 6-2 guard who spent last year at Chipola (Fla.) College. He is a three-star prospect by Rivals.com. Page was named Second Team All-Panhandle Conference, averaging 14.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals. He also connected on 49.0-percent of his three-pointers.

While at Dillon High School in South Carolina, Page was named Class 2A All-State by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association, as well as Statewide All-State by the South Carolina High School Sports Report. He was also selected to play in the Carolina's All-Star Classic.

Hayden Eustachy, a 6-0 guard, just finished his senior year at Presbyterian Christian School. The Hattiesburg, Miss., native averaged 16.2 points and 1.3 rebounds while leading PCS to a 25-11 record and a runner-up finish in the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools Championship.

The trio joins Trency Jackson, Rashad Perkins and Carrington Tankston, who all signed with Southern Miss in the fall.
