2013-14 Golden Eagle Notes

  • Senior guard Neil Watson is fourth in the country in free throw percentage, connecting on 93.3%.
  • Head Coach Donnie Tyndall's 53 wins are the most for a coach in consecutive seasons since joining Divi¬sion I prior to the 1972-73 season.
  • With the victory at Tulane, Southern Miss tied a school record with its 100th victory over the past four seasons. The Golden Eagles also recorded 100 victories from 1950-54.
  • Southern Miss finished its home schedule a perfect 14-0. It is the second time in the last three years the Golden Eagles finished perfect at home and the sixth time overall (2011-12, 1967-68, 1963-64, 1959-60, 1952-53).
  • The Golden Eagles have won at least 25 games for a school record third-straight year and are one of just six programs to win at least 25 games each of the past three years.
  • The Black and Gold are one of just 17 teams with at least 12 victories away from home.
  • The Golden Eagles are 67-7 since 2009 in its home facility, Reed Green Coliseum, with a winning percentage of .905.
  • Since 2011, Southern Miss 23-1 (.958) in home con¬ference games.
  • In fact, with its victory over FIU, the Golden Eagles set a school-record with 12 straight home con-ference wins.
  • Southern Miss is one of just 12 teams to be unde¬feated at home this year, joining Arizona, Creighton, Duke, Florida, Georgia State, Gonzaga, North Carolina Central, Stephen F. Austin, Toledo, VCU and Wichita State.
