HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's basketball team looks to snap a two-game losing streak this Saturday, Feb. 7, when it welcomes UAB in a regionally-televised game on CSS. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. CT.

Southern Miss and UAB will meet for the 29th time, with the Blazers holding a 17-11 advantage. However, Southern Miss has won three of the last four meetings. In Hattiesburg, the Eagles hold an 8-5 record. Last year, the teams split the season series, with UAB winning, 72-65, in Birmingham before Southern Miss took a, 93-85, double-overtime victory in Hattiesburg.

Southern Miss enters Saturday night's game with a 13-8 record, 3-4 in C-USA. The Golden Eagles are on a two-game losing streak after dropping a heartbreaker at East Carolina, 82-79.

Southern Miss had four players in double-figures, led by Courtney Beasley with 23 points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds. It was Beasley's second straight double-double fifth of the season. Craig Craft also recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. R.L Horton scored 18 points and Jeremy Wise added 16.

Wise is ninth in the conference with 16.1 points per game, while also averaging 5.1 assists. Beasley is averaging 15.6 points and grabbing a team-high 7.0 rebounds, while R.L. Horton is adding 12.1 points and Craig Craft is contributing 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles are averaging 69.4 points per game, while allowing 64.6. Southern Miss is hitting 72.2-percent of their free throws and grabbing 35.8 rebounds.

UAB enters tonight's game with a 15-8 record, 5-3 in conference. The Blazers have won five of their last six, including an 81-61 victory over Tulane, Wednesday night.

Senior guard Paul Delaney III led UAB with 16 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. It is just the second triple-double in UAB history. Lawrence Kinnard recorded his 10th double-double of the year with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Robert Vaden scored 12 points, and Howard Crawford and Channing Toney added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Vaden leads UAB with 18.4 points with 5.3 rebounds. Delaney III is averaging 16.8 points, and Kinnard is scoring 14.9 points and pulling down a conference leading 9.1 rebounds. Aaron Johnson is averaging 3.7 assists.

As a team, the Blazers are shooting a league-best 46.7-percent while allowing its opponents to shoot 42.4-percent from the field. UAB is scoring 73.3 points per game while allowing just 66.3.

Head Coach Mike Davis is in his third season at the helm of the UAB men's basketball program. He has compiled a 53-35 (.602) record during his tenure as head coach. In eight years, Davis has a 168-114 (.596) record.

Southern Miss goes back on the road next Wednesday, Feb. 11. The Golden Eagles travel to Houston to face Rice. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT.
