Beasley Named Conference USA Player of the Week
It is Beasley's first career honor.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's basketball player Courtney Beasley was named Conference USA Player of the Week in a vote by the media.
It is Beasley's first career Player of the Week honor, and the first honor for Southern Miss since 2007.
Beasley averaged 27.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in helping Southern Miss to a 1-1 record this week. Southern Miss defeated Marshall, 84-79, before falling at UTEP, 87-75.
In the victory over Marshall, Beasley scored what was a season-high 24 points, while shooting 64.3-percent from the field and 6-of-7 from the line with four rebounds. Against UTEP, he recorded his fourth double-double of the year and sixth of his career, scoring a career-high 30 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. He was 10-of-20 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. It was the first 30 point, 10 rebound game for a Golden Eagle since 2003. Also against UTEP, Beasley moved into 20th-place on the Southern Miss all-time scoring list. He has scored at least 18 points in seven of his last nine games, and is averaging 19.3 points and 7.7 rebounds in conference play.
The Golden Eagles close out a two-game road trip this Wednesday, Feb. 4, when they travel to Greenville, N.C. to face East Carolina. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. CT.
