HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The starting time for the free pregame Bucky Covington concert as well as the Taste of the 'Burg will take place at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, at Pride Field on the Southern Miss campus.
The concert will be held in conjunction with the Golden Eagles' 6 p.m., men's basketball game against Tulane at Reed Green Coliseum.
This is the second-straight year that Southern Miss Athletics and the Southern Miss Activities Council (SMAC), along with the Student Eagle Club, will put on a men's basketball pregame concert as well as feature free food tastings from area restaurants.
The restaurants that are scheduled to be at the Taste of the 'Burg include: Bop's Frozen Custard, Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters, Raising Cane's, Southern Miss Catering (Aramark), Frito Lay and Coca-Cola.
The Mississippi Tornados, a band that is made up of Southern Miss professors, will open for the country music sensation, which runs from 3-5 p.m. In addition, Covington is scheduled to sing the national anthem prior to the basketball game.
Concert goers are asked to bring can food items that will be donated to the Edward Street Fellowship Center. These donations can be dropped off at the SMAC tent located next to the stage. Fans are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs to the event. Please note no tents will be allowed on Pride Field.

Tickets for the Southern Miss basketball game can be purchased by going online at SouthernMissTickets.com, by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or by stopping by the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office weekdays from 8 a.m., until 5 p.m. Tickets are also available at the Reed Green Coliseum Box Office the day of the contest.
