HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) -- Cowboys' Jarvis Bradley scored 19 points and McNeese State snapped Southern Miss' five-game winning streak with a 63-57 win Sunday afternoon.
Bradley hit a free throw to complete a three-point play with 1:31 left to break a 55-55 tie and the Cowboys (6-5) hit five of six free throws to take the victory and snap a two-game losing streak.
Southern Miss, which beat its opponents by more than 24 points a game while sweeping the Gulf Coast Classic last week, struggled offensively, hitting 30 percent of its shots and finishing with 19 field goals.
Jeremy Wise scored 25 points for Southern Miss and hit 14 of the Golden Eagles' first 16 points.
Wise scored six straight late to help erase an eight-point Cowboys lead as Southern Miss tied the game, but Bradley's key three-point play sealed the win.
