Baseball Set to Play Host to Pair of November Camps
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -
The Southern Miss baseball program returns with its annual Fall Showcase camp as well as welcome a new Thanksgiving Kids Camp, both set to take place at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field in November.
The Fall Showcase Camp takes place, Sunday, Nov. 19, at 12 noon, with sign-in beginning at 11 a.m. It provides a great opportunity for players ranging from high school freshman to junior college sophomores (junior college freshmen must be academic qualifier). Participants will be given a chance to have their skills honed by college coaches, receive specific instruction to their defensive position, speed training to improve their 60 time, as well as hitting at Pete Taylor Park. Any pitcher who is a dual player will be able to participate at both positions. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt. Lunch will not be provided.
The camp will be limited to the first 100 applicants and the cost is $155 per camper.
The Thanksgiving Kids camp takes place Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 20-21, and will be open to kids ages 6-13. The cost of the camp is $100 and will run from 9 a.m.-12 noon each. This camp will be limited to the first 100 applicants and each camper will receive a Southern miss camp t-shirt and insurance.
The camp provides a great opportunity to work on fundamental skills before the baseball season begins as well as getting to work with our players and coaching staff.
Camp registration for all Southern Miss baseball camps can take place at www.southernmissbaseballcamps.com. Walk ups are welcome. Our camps are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.
