HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss baseball players are enjoying a solid summer around the United States in varying collegiate leagues. Here is a happening of Golden Eagle events over the last week:
He will represent the Mankato Moondogs in the Northwoods All-Star Game, Tuesday, July 24, in Madison, Wis. Fowler is hitting .291 in 32 games with eight doubles, three home runs and 15 runs batted in.
It was a big week for the Bourne Braves outfielder in the Cape Cod League. After a two-run double lifted the Braves to a 5-4 victory over Falmouth on Friday night, the Leakesville, Miss., product collected the first-ever game-winning inside-the-park home run in the 14th frame to beat Yarmouth-Dennis. Last Monday, Robbins blasted a game-winning double in the 10th against Brewster. Robbins is hitting .387 with eight doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 17 RBI in 27 games this summer. Robbins will also compete in the league's all-star game this Saturday.
He joined the Mankato Moondogs late in the season and has made two starts for them, posting a 1-0 record with a 2.70 ERA. Scarborough has fanned four and walked four in 10 innings of work.
He has hit safely in the last three games for the Acadiana Cane Cutters of the Texas Collegiate League and is hitting .311 with eight doubles, a home run and 17 RBI in 35 games.
