The No. 15 Golden Eagles (41-12) bring an 11-game winning streak into the weekend, enjoying their longest winning streak since capturing 13-straight contest to end the 2015 regular season. The two teams play 6 p.m., contests both Thursday and Friday and then conclude the regular season with an 11:30 a.m., contest Saturday at Roadrunner Field.

Southern Miss has swept its last three league series over Middle Tennessee, Florida Atlantic and UAB, while posting an 11-1 record in league road games.

The two schools have played each season since the Roadrunners joined C-USA for the 2014 campaign. The Golden Eagles swept the three-game series versus UTSA last season at Pete Taylor Park and hold a 7-4 overall record.

UTSA comes into the weekend with a 28-23 record and are tied for fifth in league play with a 15-12 record.

The Golden Eagles return are set to throw junior right-handed pitcher Colt Smith in the series opener, while junior southpaw Kirk McCarty should get the nod in the second game. Coach Scott Berry is undecided for a starting pitcher for the final game of the set.

Offensively, Dylan Burdeaux continues to lead the Golden Eagles. He doubled twice Tuesday in the team's 11-3 victory over Southeastern Louisiana at MGM Park in Biloxi. Burdeaux is hitting .355 with a team-best 21 doubles, nine home runs and a team-high 61 RBI.  The senior from West Monroe, La., has hit safely in his last eight games.

Following the UTSA series, the Golden Eagles travel back to Biloxi for The First, A National Banking Association 2017 Conference USA Championship as the No. 1 seed. They open up with a 4 p.m., contest at MGM Park the opening day of the event.
