HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team will go through its only five-game week starting with a pair of midweek contests with New Orleans Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles (13-17) will travel to Wesley Barrow Stadium in New Orleans on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m., contest, as the Privateers regular home facility, Maestri Field, is undergoing renovations for the 2013 campaign. UNO then returns the trip to Hattiesburg on Wednesday for a 6 p.m., tilt at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field. Both games can be heard on the Southern Miss IMG Sports Network with flagship station WKZW-FM, 94.3, to carry the game in the Hattiesburg/Laurel area.

Both teams have won 48 games in this series that dates back to 1970, but the Golden Eagles have won the last nine contests, including a three-game sweep of the Privateers in Hattiesburg back in 2011 in the two teams' last meeting.

In this two-game, home-and-home set, the Golden Eagles look to throw junior left-handed pitcher A.J. Glasshof (Sugar Land, Texas) in the road opener as he has posted an 0-2 record with a 7.88 ERA. Southern Miss then expects to throw redshirt freshman lefty Luke Lowery (Sumrall, Miss.) against the Privateers on Wednesday. It will be the second start for Lowery, who has posted no record with a 5.40 ERA.

The Privateers (5-26) will counter with right-handed pitcher Alex Smith (1-6, 4.74 ERA) on Tuesday and righthander Seth Laigast (0-1, 18.90 ERA) on Wednesday.

Sophomore outfielder Mason Robbins continues to pace the Golden Eagles offensively with a .333 batting average, while senior catcher Chase Fowler is next at .319 and senior second baseman Isaac Rodriguez is at .306.

Following the UNO series, the Golden Eagles will entertain Marshall this weekend at home in a Conference USA set with game times set for 6 p.m., on Friday, 2 p.m., on Saturday and 10:30 a.m., on Sunday.
