HATTIEBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss senior righthander Conor Fisk earned a share of the Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week award in a release by the league office Monday.
Fisk, in his second appearance of the season, fanned a career-best 13 batters in seven innings during a 3-1 victory over Troy last Friday night.
The Brown Deer, Wis., native surrendered just one run on five hits with three walks and fanned the side three times in the contest. At one point, he retired seven Trojans in a row en route to his first victory of the year. In 13 innings of work this season, Fisk has fanned a team-high 24 batters and has double-digit strikeouts in each of his first two starts of the year.
This is the second weekly league award garnered by Fisk in his career, after receiving the honor once last season.
Fisk shares the weekly pitching award with Jeff Hoffman of East Carolina, while UTSA junior outfielder Jesse Barker registered the Player of the Week award by the conference office.
