This will be the fourth time since 2014 that the Golden Eagles have played at this venue and hold a 3-3-1 record. Southern Miss defeated Michigan State, Troy and Auburn there in its last visit during the 2016 campaign.

The Golden Eagles (6-2) opened the current road swing with a 9-7 victory Tuesday night at New Orleans in which the squad registered double-digit hits for the fifth consecutive game. Through eight contests, Southern Miss averaged 10 runs per game and leads Conference USA in batting average (.333), slugging percentage (.517), on base percentage (.434), runs (80), hits (96), home runs (12) and RBI (73).

In fact, eight Golden Eagles with 16 or more at bats this season have put together a batting average of .300 or better during the early portion of the schedule.

Following Reynolds is redshirt freshman Gabe Montenegro (Guatemala City, Guatemala) who bats a .462, while junior catches Cole Donaldson (St. Charles, Mo.) is at .389. Junior first baseman Hunter Slater (Mobile, Ala.) holds a .364 batting mark, while senior shortstop LeeMarcus Boyd (Coldwater, Miss.) has a .357 and sophomore infielder Matthew Guidry (Hattiesburg, Miss.) is at .348.

On the mound, the Golden Eagles have flipped starting assignments with Stevie Powers (Savannah, Ga.) getting the call on Friday and junior All-American Nick Sandlin (Evans, Ga.) moving to Saturday. Sandlin has yet to allow a run in 14 innings of work, giving up just seven singles and allowing no walks with 23 strikeouts.

After the Pensacola trip, the Golden Eagles return to the road next Wednesday, March 7, to take on Alabama at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
