Baseball Picked No. 32 in NCBWA Preseason Poll

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team garnered its third preseason ranking Monday when the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) picked the Golden Eagles No. 32 in their preseason poll.
The Golden Eagles have already merited preseason honors from Collegiate Baseball last month with a No. 36 ranking and last week with a No. 23 position by Baseball America last week.
The Golden Eagles begin the 2013 season, Friday, Feb. 15, when they play host to Missouri at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field for the first of a three-game series that weekend. Game time for the opening contest is 4 p.m.

The NCBWA continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls with its 2013 preseason predictions and weekly surveys. Weekly polls will resume from Feb. 18-June 27 with the finale following the 67th annual 2013 NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb., at three-year-old TD Ameritrade Park.
This preseason poll has representation by 11 different conferences among the 298 baseball-playing schools in the 2013 NCAA Division I ranks.
