The Southern Miss baseball team will hold its third annual fan day Sat., Feb., 4, beginning at 10 a.m., at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field, which will include a free kids camp, autograph session and an intra-squad scrimmage.
"This has been a tremendous event for not only our fans, but for our players and our staff as well," said third-year coach Scott Berry. "We have a lot of new faces this season and this will be a great time for our fans to come out and get a chance to meet our new players as well as help us enjoy a great day of baseball as we get ready for our season opener, Feb. 17, at home against Nicholls State."
The day starts with a 10 a.m., free baseball clinic for kids ages 4 through 13, with instruction provided by Southern Miss players and coaches. Registration for the free camp will begin at 9:30 a.m. At 11:30 a.m., fans will have the opportunity to meet the entire 2012 squad and coaching staff during an autograph session with the first chance to get a 2012 baseball schedule poster, followed by a 2 p.m., nine-inning, intra-squad scrimmage.
The Southern Miss mascot, Seymour, will be on hand for pictures and autographs for this free event. Drinks will be provided by Powerade.
