HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team will hold its fourth annual fan day Sat., Jan., 26, beginning at 10 a.m., at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field, which will include a free kids camp, autograph session and an intra-squad scrimmage.
"This has really turned into a great preseason event for us as we get a chance to showcase our team to our fans prior to the 2013 season," said fourth-year coach Scott Berry. "Our players enjoy teaching the youngsters at the baseball clinic and it gives us a chance to meet our loyal supporters before our season begins Feb. 15, at home against Southeastern Conference newcomer Missouri."
The day starts with a 10 a.m., free baseball clinic for kids ages 4 through 13, with instruction provided by Southern Miss players and coaches. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., for the free camp. At 11:30 a.m., fans will have the opportunity to meet the entire 2012 squad and coaching staff during an autograph session with the first chance to get a 2012 baseball schedule poster, followed by a 2 p.m., nine-inning, intra-squad scrimmage.
