Head Coach Scott Berry
Overall Statement...
"We fell behind early. Andrew (Pierce) didn't have his best stuff, but we weathered out some things offensively. We didn't give in, we kept plugging along and the bullpen did tremendous with Jay Myrick and Nick Johnson. Tulane swung the bats very well. Andrew isn't used to getting hit like that. For him to get hit, and our offense to not lay down and keep pounding away, I have to give our kids a lot of credit."

On playing from behind yet again this season...
"I think this team feels good about themselves right now. We've lost games in every scenario you could imagine. So the lesson is to learn from those losses. The thing I was proud of is that we were down 6-2 and didn't give up. We hit them with a five-spot and went ahead 7-6 but they tied it up. They hit us in the face and we came back and hit them again so I'm very proud of our guys."

On the bottom half of the order coming through...
"Those guys are seniors. With (Bradley) Roney, I took the bunt off and he gets a big hit there. (Blake) Brown has been swinging the bat really hot here lately for us and leaving the yard, so that's good. I was just proud of everybody today; I liked our approach."

On getting game one in the tournament...
"It's very important. Every game from here on out is important and the next one that is important to us is Friday against Houston."

On facing Houston on Friday...
"We had a tough series with them over there. Houston's a very good ballclub and took two out of three from us. But once again with our backs against the wall on Saturday, the last day with the title on the line and the chance to lose what we worked real hard to get, we were able to hold on and win that game to share the title with Rice. Sometimes the wins aren't pretty, but a win is a win and that's all we're trying to do."

Blake Brown
On his go-ahead hit...
"We saw that guy, he's their Sunday starter and has a good arm. He was throwing some fastballs in and I was really just trying to move the runner over early in the at-bat with a guy on second base. Bradley (Roney) just stepped up with a good piece of hitting in left-center. I wasn't trying to do too much, but saw a 3-1 pitch I could hit and handled it."

On hitting well lately...
"I've been trying to stay calm. It's my senior year and I don't want it to end yet so I've been trying not to put too much on my shoulders and just stay calm and have fun."

On confidence boost from four-run comeback...
"It's huge. Anytime you get the offense, late or early, it's an awesome confidence booster. It's always good to pick up a guy that's been picking you up all year. Andrew Pierce didn't have his best stuff today but it feels good to get a no-decision for him. It's a boost for everybody."

Bradley Roney
On his double...
"We had the bunt on but then the count went to 1-0 and we wiped it off. I was looking for a pitch to drive. It ran into my barrel and just happened to go into the gap so I was happy about that.

On the team's big hits in the game...
"That's one thing we've really struggled with this year is getting the big hits. We've left a lot of runners on base, but today there were a few times we did execute when we needed those big hits and that's what won the game for us."

On the comeback...
"That's exactly what we needed and that's what we got. It's the way Coach Berry wanted us to play today and not leave anything out there so that's what we did."
