Blake Brown Lifts Eagles in 10th with Game-Winning Double
The Golden Eagles win their first extra-inning game of the year at UNO.

NEW ORLEANS - Blake Brown laced a game-winning double into left-center in the top of the 10th to lead Southern Miss to a 2-1 decision over New Orleans here Tuesday night at Wesley Barrow Stadium.
Southern Miss improved to 14-17 on the year, while the Privateers fell to 5-27. The two teams will finish the two-game midweek series with a 6 p.m. contest Wednesday, at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
With two outs in the 10th, Michael Sterling was hit by a pitch. Sterling then stole second before Brown added his game-winning double, his second of the game.
The game remained scoreless until the fourth when UNO got on the board first with an RBI double by Zacary Hawkins. Hawkins, and Morgan Barger, each had two hits for the Privateers.
The Golden Eagles, which left 11 runners on base, finally tied the game at 1-1 in the eighth on a wild pitch. Creel, along with Brown and Tim Lynch, each collected two hits in the nine-hit Golden Eagle attack, while Chase Fowler had three hits for the visitors.
A.J. Glasshof gave up just one unearned run over six-plus innings as he gave up five hits and one walk with six strikeouts. Nick Johnson then came on to throw the final four innings to get the victory and improve to 1-0. Johnson surrendered just two hits and fanned four in the win.
UNO reliever Raymond Winter (2-2) got the loss as he allowed a run on three hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
