MONROE, La. - Dalton Herrington delivered a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to lift ULM to a 6-5 non-conference baseball victory over Southern Miss here Tuesday night at Warhawk Field.

The Golden Eagles fell to 5-3, while ULM improved to 5-3.

Southern Miss tied a season-high with 15 hits as Connor Barron collected four singles, while Mason Robbins, Blake Brown, Tim Lynch and Bradley Roney all added two hits each.

With the game tied at 3-3, Southern Miss got a sacrifice fly from Breck Kline in the sixth, the second of two RBI for the redshirt freshman in the contest, and added a solo home run to left by Blake Brown in the seven to left to give the visitors the lead, but ULM knotted the score again at 5-all with a two-run homer by Corben Green in the bottom of the seventh.

A.J. Glasshof, the third of five Golden Eagle pitchers, suffered the loss as he allowed two runs on two hits over an inning of work to fall to 0-1. The loss overshadowed a nice relief outing from Jay Myrick who gave up a run on two hits over four innings and five strikeouts.

Jared Dye went a 1/3 of an inning and tallied the victory to improve to 1-0, while Devin Malone gave up a pair of hits in the ninth but did not surrender a run to earn his second save.

Southern Miss scored a pair of runs in the top of the first on four singles as Tim Lynch and Bradley Roney each drove home the runs with their hits.

ULM, though, tied the score in the bottom of the frame as they took advantage of a USM error while collecting just one hit, getting a run with a single from Green and then a bases loaded walk from Kodie Tidwell.

ULM took a 3-2 lead in the third as they hit into bases-loaded double play by Tidwell, before Kline drove in his first Golden Eagle run with an RBI single in the fourth.

The Golden Eagles continue their five-game road swing this weekend when they travel to Troy for a three-game series. Game times are 6 p.m., Friday, and 1 p.m., on both Saturday and Sunday.
