MONROE, La. - Louisiana-Monroe needed just one inning to score its entire game total in a 2-1 victory over Southern Miss here Wednesday night at Warhawk Field.
Kameron Brunty and Jared Bales led the Golden Eagle nine-hit attack with two hits apiece.
It was Brunty that drove in the visitor's lone run in the first on an infield single.
Connor Barron led off the game with a short blooper to leftfield that ULM shortstop Jeremy Sy dropped, putting the freshman on second base. After a grounder to move Barron up a base, Brunty's single plated the Golden Eagles only run.
