Ana Gross is in her second year as the certified athletic trainer for baseball, and serves as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Southern Miss. Her duties involve the care, rehabilitation and prevention of athletic injuries for the program.
Gross was hired as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Southern Miss in January 2006, after serving as a Graduate Assistant for two years. She also has worked with cross country, soccer and football at Southern Miss, including working on the athletic training staff at the Wyndham New Orleans Bowl in 2004.
Gross is a 2004 graduate of LSU with a bachelor's degree in athletic training. At LSU, she worked with football (Sugar Bowl, 2004 National Champions), women's basketball (2003 SEC Champions) and aided the Tiger athletic training staff at the 2003 Cotton Bowl. She also worked with the men's tennis program in 2003-04 and headed the athletic training efforts for the 2004 NCAA Men's Regional Tennis Tournament.
A native of New Orleans, La., Gross will complete her master's degree in sports administration in May 2006. The oldest of five children, she is the daughter of Greg and Maria Gross.
