Cross Country's Ledgerwood Named Conference USA Female Athlete of the Week

This is Ledgerwood's first career C-USA Athlete of the Week honor.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Senior Stephanie Ledgerwood was named Conference USA Female Athlete of the Week after her performance in the First Screamin' Eagle 5K Festival hosted by Southern Miss.

Ledgerwood, a native of Yuma, Ariz., was the first overall runner to cover the 5K course with a time of 18:17.26 in the Screamin' Eagle 5K Festival ran at the Southern Miss Dedicated Cross Country Facility. She was among the leader group of six before breaking away around the 4K mark. She finished the race 14 seconds ahead of the second-place finishers.

This is her first career C-USA Athlete of the Week honor and USM's first since 2007.
