HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's cross country team is set to host the First Screamin' Eagle 5K Fest on Saturday at Southern Miss Dedicated Cross Country Course located on the old Van Hook Golf Course.

Five teams will be competing in the event that include Tulane (m/w), Jackson State (m/w), Alcorn State (m/w), Tougaloo College (m/w) and Southern Miss women's team.

The first event is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. with the open Screamin' Eagle 5K followed by the university and unattached men 8K at 8:30. The women's 5K is scheduled to follow at 9:10. At the conclusion of the women's race, the high school boys 5K at 9:45 and then the high school girls' 4K at 10:15.
